Write "right branching" sentences to write sentences that flow well

Sentences are the basic building blocks of writing. They create a structure for your thoughts and ideas to flow in a logical manner. When constructing sentences, it’s important to use proper grammar and syntax. But it’s also important to use effective sentence structure for readability.

One way to make your writing more readable is to use right branching sentences. This means that your main idea or point should be expressed in the beginning of the sentence, with any supporting details following. Such a structure keep the reader engaged as they clearly understand what you are trying to say.

In grammar lingo, a right branching sentence starts with a main clause (the subject and verb), followed by one or more subordinate clauses (adverbial clauses and relative clauses). This allows the writer to create longer, more complex sentences that are easy to read and understand.

Here's an example:
Right branching sentences help keep the readers engaged by providing them with a clear understanding of what you're trying to say.

In this sentence, 'right branching sentence help keep the readers engaged' is the main clause that the sentence starts with

Or another one:
Our cat slept through the storm which was surprising since she always hides under the bed during a thunderstorm.

Again, the main clause in the sentence, 'our cat slept through the storm', comes at the very beginning.

While the subordinate clauses 'which was surprising' and 'since she always hides', appear later in the sentence.
